Now that the polls have closed, let’s get to the fun! But first things first, we’ve got business to get down to.

the sign ups form THE PLATFORMS, THE FAQ
We wanted to find where you are interested in posting and reading fics. Once we closed the polls, these are the results you guys gave us!
Will Round 6 be hosted on AO3 and AFF?
Yes! Since there’s a relatively similar percentage of people who voted for either AO3 or AFF, we have decided that we will open accounts on both platforms, to accommodate for most of the voters’ preferences. We are aiming to open the accounts on AO3 and AFF by October 4th (Tuesday) as it will take some time in preparation to set them up. We will tweet announcements when it happens, so you won’t miss it.
What do the different platforms mean?
Round 6 is a little different from the previous challenges, if you’ve been with us before. Since the poll results tell us that voters have preferences for multiple platforms, this round will encourage writers to post on the platform they feel most comfortable with. We will discuss more on how to post on different platforms on October 4th.
What if I don’t have an account on LJ, AO3, or AFF?
If you have an account on a completely different platform other than LJ, AO3, and AFF, please do send us a link to this account. (The option for this is available on the signup form itself.)
Or, you could simply create an account on either LJ, AO3, or AFF. If, however, you do not feel comfortable making an account on either of these platforms, we may also post your fic for you on the platform of your choosing. (The option for this is also available on the signup form itself.)
Which platform is better?
That is up to you. We are not promoting that a certain platform is better or easier to post and read fics than the next one. We just wanted to cater to the varying preferences of the readers and writers.
If I post my fic on one platform, how will readers on the other platforms see my fic?
We will be compiling a list of fics to keep track of those that are done. This Compilation List will be posted on LJ, AO3, and AFF, so your fic won’t be missed out if, say, you posted on AO3. Readers and writers will be able to find your fic on this Compilation List written on LJ and AFF as well. We will also tweet about your fic on weekdays. But the number of updates will depend on the number of fics we receive.
Where can I sign up?
You can sign up from any of these platforms (LJ, AO3, or AFF) because the sign up questions are formatted on a Google Form and are linked at the bottom of every Sign Up Post on every platform. (See below, for the Sign Up Form.) This makes it easier for you to sign up regardless of which platform you’re using, and makes it easier for us to collect your information and keep track of our writers from all platforms.
When can I start writing? When can I post my fic?
Since we are allowing writers to post on their own accounts on LJ, AO3, and/or AFF (or other!), this means you may start writing as soon as we have sent you an email confirming your signup form submission. We will try to respond ASAP so you can start writing immediately, but at the latest, all confirmation emails will be sent out by October 17th 31st (Monday).
After that, you can post your fic whenever you’re done, as long as it is before the final deadline on December 8th (Saturday). Once you have posted, please email us the link to your fic at unreal.2pm@gmail.com.
Please read
THIS post for more information on the challenge.
How many prompts can I pick? How many words do I have to write?
Short answer: You may pick as many prompts as you like, and the minimum word count is dependent on the number of prompts you choose. One prompt is a minimum word count of 500 words, two prompts would be 1000 words, three would be 1500 words and so on. For further clarification, please refer to
THIS post.
What if someone has the same prompt(s) as me?
That’s okay! Everyone will interpret the prompts differently and associate their inspiration to different characters, and therefore, the outcome of their stories will reflect that. So don’t be afraid about choosing the same prompt as someone else because your story will be unique!
Am I allowed to discuss my prompt(s) and my fic(s) in public (on twitter and other social networking sites, etc) during Round 6?
Since this is not an exchange where secrecy is necessary, it is fine to discuss your prompts and fics on social networking sites. In fact, you might be more inspired and committed to your ideas if you talk about it in the open! Or alternatively, you might discover that your prompt is not for you; and if that’s the case, you can change it as long as you email us about it.
Are the mods scary? Could I talk to them about my struggles in writing my fic(s)? What if I want to drop out?
Roar, hiss. We’re super duper scary.
Just kidding, no we’re not! We can’t stress this enough: we’re here to help, encourage, and cheer on writers. We’re writers ourselves so we get that struggle. It’s hard. But it’s harder to face your struggles alone. So please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you’re having any doubts and troubles. Sometimes talking it out might help you discover a solution somewhere, who knows. You certainly won’t know if you don’t try.
If you want to drop out, please let us know by the drop out deadline on November 27th (Sunday). But we really hope you don’t have to! Dropouts might happen for many reasons, but we often wonder if a dropout could have been prevented if the writer spoke to us about their struggles. So again, communication is key, but we’re not going to hold you back if life gets in the way.
If I have more questions, how do I contact the mods?
You may leave a comment below or send us an email at unreal.2pm@gmail.com. You can also contact us on our official
twitter, or message us privately on LJ. Alternatively, you may contact the mods’ individual twitter accounts: Mow
@baaanana or Lia
@taechnically.
THE PROMPTS, THE FUN
Now we can get to the fun!
Each Color + Number is considered one prompt, even if it includes multiple things/links.
Song prompts will always include the song and the lyrics, but not always the music video. The writer may write to just the song, just the lyrics, or just the music video (if applicable). Or they could write to a combination of two, if not all three.
This is the same for prompts with a picture and a quote: you can use just the picture, just the quote, or both.
For more information, read
THIS post about how prompts work.
Warning: prompts marked with an asterisk (*) may contain content rated PG-13 and above, and may be considered troubling as they might depict food, death, suicide, drug use and abuse, alcohol, smoking, nudity, inexplicit or explicit mentionings/scenes of sex, profanity, and other phobias.
