Yeah, my own knowledge of the Bible came from having been Christian, although I am convinced a huge number of people who proclaim to be such don't know anything outside of what's been dictated to them by youth pastors and church sermons. Most people cherry-pick what they want to believe from it anyway, which undermines its credibility entirely. If you're going to believe one thing from it but not another, based solely on what makes you feel comfortable, then don't preach its validity to me. You obviously don't respect it yourself
