America, as he was apt to do, had made himself right at home in the (temporary) apartment, kicking off his shoes and flopping down on the common area's couch. The more he thought about it, it was pretty clear there wouldn't be enough room for all the stuff he would want to have brought over. His posters would probably take up most of that wall, and the map (if he got a really big one) would take up that wall, and that wasn't even leaving room for the plasma screen TV.

Yeah, he was definitely gonna need a bigger room. He crumpled up the wrapper from his lunch, pitched it at the trash, and missed; instead it landed near the feet of a little girl carrying a large pile of books.

For a few seconds, long enough for her to put them all down, America just stared at her, confused. Then, not getting up (why should he, after all?) he said bluntly, "Uh, what're you doing in my room?"

Raspberyl stared back in surprise as she realized she wasn't alone in the room. At the blunt question, she almost forgot her manners. Almost. But she wasn't about to do such a thing for what she was sure had to be a misunderstanding.

"I'm sorry, but this is my room," she said, and gestured to the door she had left in the morning. "I woke up in there. Perhaps you're mistaken?"

But how had he gotten in here if the other doors didn't seem to open for her? She hoped all of the other ones weren't just broken; it would get crowded in here fast and with all the noise how was she going to get anything done?

That couldn't be right, America thought. He wasn't mistaken; this was definitely his room. He'd woken up here, all the other apartments were locked to him, and this room was like a closet already even without having to share it. If someone was mistaken here, it wasn't him.

"No, it's definitely my room," he said, getting to his feet. "It's not big enough for two people."

"It's plenty big enough, there are two other rooms," Raspberyl said, pointing to each of the doors. "Anyway, they said we might have roomma--Hey, I bet it's on the sheet!"

And she disappeared into her room, which opened obediently for her as she expected it to. She returned with the piece of paper in her hands.

"So are you America?" she asked, pointing to the name written on the paper which listed the person she was assigned with. "You must have a sheet like this in your room. My name is Raspberyl. It's nice to meet you!"
