Heavy rain, my muse is back, Bjork radio on pandora = this.

Inspired and written for my Viro. May add to this later.

“I love you.”

The words spill out before he can stop them. The alcohol as made his tongue loose, Things he had bottled up for centuries coming to the surface, self control to keep secrets gone.

“I always have. Since we were kids, before you went off with the Vikings.”

He knew that wasn’t fair. Tino had been taken when Mathias had noticed the boy was not like the others in the village, that he was a being like them, not entirely human. But he had stayed with them, never came back, became a Nordic. Left him behind.

“Do you know how much living with Sweden hurt? To see you two get all close like that? When I knew he was just using you for territory. Don’t say he wasn’t. That’s all that really mattered back then, land. He didn’t even let you speak your own language. We had to speak Swedish. And then he gave you, and me, the both of us, to Russia in a treaty.”

He’s shaking his head, knowing that his best friend is staring at him, mouth surely open in shock. How long has he been hiding this? He can’t even remember when the strange feelings towards the other nation started. They had always been there, it seemed.

“I thought…maybe…if nothing else, maybe we could have each other in Russia’s house. That’d you’d realize how I felt. But you got autonomy and you could speak your own language and…and…and everything went to shit.”

He felt something in him breaking, his face felt damp. Was he crying? He wasn’t totally sure, too into his rant to care, even though it sounded like his voice was breaking.

“And now..now you’re back together with him and I’m by myself and you only ever come by when you want to get drunk and…and…”

The seat cushion sinks beside him as Tino sits down on his side of the booth. The Finn wraps an arm around his shoulders, pulling him close before the other arm wraps around from the other side, pulling him into a tight hug.

“Maybe we should…talk about this somewhere else?” Tino suggests. People are staring at them here, so Eduard agrees, leaning heavily on the other nation as they leave the bar to navigate the streets of Tallinn back to the Baltic’s home.
