Yeah, he passed away a couple of years ago...Panofsky? Nah, he was just the main character of his book "Barney's Version" (its thick but I think it should be read-the paperback version is cheap enough) but no hes not a critic hes a wealthy jewish writer who lives in old Montreal....like all of his main characters...
