Golden Corral's Banana Pudding?!

so i used this recipe to make banana pudding because i absolutely love theirs. but when i made it, the consistency never changed. its still very liquidity and it sat in the fridge over night. what did i miss here??!! im upset. its still really good but its like drinking it instead of eating it

If you recipe requires you to stir it constantly in a pan then just turn up the heat and stir stir stir. But I think that might just be for homemade pudding.
