Edgar the Terrible Has to Move On

The short of it is that we have bought a condo, perfect for us and our needs, which does not allow pets.  In reading the minutes of its meetings I can see that people (a very few, but still...) have been reported for having pets, fined, and been forced to get rid of the pet.

Oh dear. I would have such a terrible time if I had had to give up my cats (when we had them). Thinking of you...

I think it is so sad that the condo people don't recognize the value of pets. Humans have been living with animals forever it seems. We even see something of ourselves in them. Especially for lonely people (I am not saying that you and Ricardo are lonely) a pet is important. It is ironic that animals are very humanizing for humans. It is recommended for troubled children to have pets sometimes to teach them to be more gentle. Why not let people have pets. If they don't care for them and they become a trouble to others, then do something. I don't mean to dis your new digs, but your condo complex sounds a little like a police state. I think it is appropriate for me rant like this since my name is two canines.
