Filling out an application for volunteering at Folkfest... Anyone have recommendations for a crew to ask to be on? Darby? Of note: weekend passes and camping passes are sold in bundles this year, so don't forget to buy/wait too long/lose your ticket this time!

Yes, piqued. Tavern being in the campground? Not sure what this is... does that mean always having shifts at night? Do you have any Folkster plans?

the tavern right by the main stage at the festival site. You get to hear all the music, but not watch it. As far as going, I'd love to as we only went one evening to see Elvis last year. We'll have to see how tight finances are. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Campground Traffic = free festival/free campground
Campground Security = same as above
Perhaps you can do like Campground First aid..heh Dr.Jodie :D
Also, volunteering at the festival grounds, not the campground you just gotta pay for camping, not that it's a big deal or anything. just gotta make sure you get a campground ticket asap when they're on sale (mayish).

Ya, Kara pretty well sums up my/our experience with volunteering.

I'll just expand a little on the crews here:

Campground traffic involves ALOT of sitting and potential walking. It's probably the easiest of all the crews I worked on, you just need to know how to entertain yourself while stuck in a field somewhere by yourself. Free everything.

Campground security, although I've never worked it, can also be a super easy gig, but it's totally dependent on who you're partnered up with. I've seen some miserable people because they were partyer's and their partner wasn't, or the person was not a partyer and their partner was (totally goes either way). Free everything

Backstage security (is it still called that? I think it's called festival security now...). Anyways, that was my first gig. I Loved it, but again, that crew's a little dependent on who your crew supervisor is. Mine was a good friend of mine, so he set me up with the best locations, listening to the best shows. If you want to catch lots of daytime shows, this is a good ( ... )
