I was a psych major, but a psych major who couldn't stand research. I passed the class, and am now getting my master's in social work. My passion lies in therapy, I think. Research just has never been for me.

Next semester, I'll be taking an independent study course in research methods. I'm ashamed to admit to you that I dread it.

My undergrad degree is in psychology. I think a lot of people go into psychology thinking they can "fix" the world. They do not realize the science behind it and when reality slaps them in the face they do a doubletake. I enjoy research. I guess you have to just get what you can out of it and ignore those who choose not to.

My kid sister is pre-law but she's fallen in love with the research aspect and is now considering changing her utlimate goal to end up working in the research end of law.

I've been considering going back to school and getting a psychology degree because I'd want to do research (though it'd be several years down the road before this would even be a possibility). I'd love to hear more about this class.
