:D Thanks! I definitely had those two authors on my mind, though Bram Stoker snuck in later than Lovecraft did.

What said Bram Stoker to me was your choice to tell the story through a number of different records and sources.

The whole insane guy obsessed with animals reminded me, about halfway through making his character, of Renfield from Dracula...and THEN I remembered the structure of that particular novel ;)

Very interesting. You really should consider expanding it.

NaNoWriMo might be an option? I say that because it is very good for just getting the material out there onto the page.

The format reminds me of Michael Crichton's Andromeda Strain. Nicely done! While some may ask for more detail, I could see this as a stand alone piece in a thriller anthology. The less said, the more implied, and the readers' imagination takes hold and does the rest.
