I was raised to be very passive. I can remember being chased by some kid in Pre-school and complaining to my mother. Her sophomoric/sage advice was "He can't chase you if you don't run." Very interesting. I agree that one does need to figure out when to ignore versus when to attack. Cause, one answer really just does not fit every situation.

I have found, however, that being batshit insane tends to discourage bullies. I have employed this method often in my life (either with liberally application of violence or not) and have remained generally un-bullied/molested/etc. Not to say people didn't/don't make disparaging comments about me. Just that they don't do it within earshot of me. Which is all dandy by me.

What's interesting is that both of them CAN actually work for every situation. It's just that they're going to SUCK a lot for some.

I think the best tactic is to use both simultaneously. Both attack AND ignore at the same time!! It'd be amazing!
