I'm really excited right now. I had a good merit (raise) talk with my manager yesterday. They stressed that they pay for performance and also showed me how I still have growth within my pay band. HOLY POOP!
I felt that today was going to be a good day and much to my suprise it was!!! Since my new manager is trying to build the Security Operations Center (and as my co-workers have guessed that he wants to be the manager solely dedicated to this effort) he wants to build it in his image, with his key people trained. My cousin is depressed...
Was laid off a few weeks ago and it is starting to really depress him. It is effecting his wife and family. If anyone knows of a warehouse supervisor/manager position in the Central Florida area, please let me know the details! I want to see if I can help him out. -

I don't know what was wrong with Addysn, but apparently antibiotics fixed it. She has been sick off and on (fever, cough, and runny nose) since Thanksgiving. I finally took her to the doctor. After 4 days of antibiotics she is happier than she has ever been! She is all giggles, rainbows, and kittens. She has been throwing herself on the ground ( Read more... ) -
Sometimes I get the feeling...
... that someone is going to find me out and expose me because I don't know what the heck I'm doing. It is one of those irrational fears that I have. That someone will expose me at work for not knowing anything about security (even though I do have the experience and certifications) or expose me as a bad parent. Department Reorg Time
Ok, they announced our department reorg, unofficially. The VP will be sending out an announcement later this afternoon. We are basically being divided into a group of people who do log monitoring (us), access management (them), and apparently a group of non-exempt employees who do not do anything, do not have a titles, or manager associated with ( Read more... ) -

I love being Daddy.
Friday Addy was running a fever and I was feeling flu-ish, so I stayed home with her. During the time in between her 4 naps (2 more than she normally takes), she spent the time laying on my chest.
