Little confused

Hey little confused here. Everyone's been telling me something different.
So what day does uni start this sem? the 3rd or 10th?
Is Week Zero the same as O-week?

Week Zero is O-Week. Some faculties/schools are running compulsory classes in "Week Zero" (generally stuff like OH&S for labs, though for MBBS students it's a full week of class). O-Week/Week Zero starts on the 3rd of March, Week 1 starts on the 10th. :) Check with your school or faculty to see if there's anything you need to go to. It should also be up on myUNSW, but other students have reported difficulty finding where the information is.

should i email my faculty/s to confirm with them, or will i receive something from them?

Technically they should tell you (or maybe it should be on your timetable?), but it's probably best to e-mail or call the appropriate offices to confirm. Sometimes notifications just don't get sent out, and suddenly you've missed a compulsory class and it's All Your Fault. Better to be safe than sorry, you know?

Right, better to email them to be sure. Thanks.

week zero happens at the same time as oweek (3rd-7th march)

there will be compulsory things returning students have to go to in week zero (you should get emails from your school/faculty)

so if we do not receive anything, it's safe to say we need not attend?
Shoud I have received those emails yet? or just keep waiting for them?

never assume.

I got one notification a few weeks ago but maybe that lecturer's just keen. keep an eye on your unimail up to and including week zero and you should be fine.

there might be things on your school's website as well. idk. just keep your eyes open.

right, so I might wait a tad, and send them an email just to be sure.
Thanks
