Manuel's Liutenant just called. He'll be deploying to Mississippi within the next 2 days to help in the relief effort for hurricane Katrina. He's to report to Las Flores at 1600 tomorrow

I'm sure he'll be okay... but I know you'll miss him :( The situation seems to be getting a little better, not to mention less dangerous now that they have less random people roaming the streets. They have already transported a lot of people to Houston, Dallas, and even San Antonio. We saw some local video of crews in downtown Dallas... it's kind of weird. I'm sure you'll see stuff when you're back in San Antonio. Anyways, maybe he won't have to be gone for so long. :) Is there a way you can request a tape of the ultrasound? I have some friends who have done that...
I hope so. I heard about them being transported to different cities in Texas. I'm hoping he comes back before I have to leave to San Antonio, but I'm not going to hold my breath. I was planning to record the ultrasound either way, but then I found out that there's no way I can record it in the Naval Hospital. They're really strict about that for some reason. I know this girl that's married to this guy that's really good friends with my roomate May and she just had her baby and she and her husband had the tape ready and everything for the ultrasound, but they didn't let them record it. And it's on the instruction sheet they gave me for the ultrasound, too.
Oh :( Well that sucks, I'm sorry. Do you know what kind of relief work he's going to be doing? Is he going to New Orleans? I wish him the best of luck and hope he stays safe. There are a lot of people who appreciate the work he (and others) will be doing. I know it doesn't make things better, but at least this time he will be in our own country helping fellow Americans :)
He has no idea. Probably security patrols or handing out supplies or something like that. He might have to clean up the area, you know picking up debris and trash and stuff. hehehe. Just kidding. Right now, we don't know whether he's going to Mississippi or Louisiana. It could go either way. He says THANK YOU, btw.
I'm calling tomorrow to see if there's any way I can request a copy or record it. I hope there's a way around it. They're pretty strict about it, apparentally.
I know it's almost like standard for everyone to be able to get a tape of their ultrasound, but I think it's different for me 'cause I have military insurance(Tricare) and I'm going to a military (Naval) hospital and they have very specific regulations(read other comments.) Which don't make sense personally, but hey, what do I know about the reasons behind their rules?
