[This is with a tone of mild bemusement. He never was one to pay much attention to the weather, but it's been like this for three days without letting up.]

It certainly is wet outside. I expect I should not have gone to the library to get yet more books, I was nearly soaked through. At the very least, I shall have The Communist Manifesto, ( Read more... )

I would not wish the books to disappear. I will help, if you wish.

[A pause.]

[The weather outside reminds her of one of those cursed English rains that seemed to have no end. Yet it seems safe enough to go out in - for now - so long as one does not mind soaking.]

How do you intend to proceed?

I am not yet certain. There is the bed, but if the rains continue, that will quickly become a problem. Shelves, perhaps...

The Communist Manifesto is, in short, a collection of the authors' thoughts of what the government should be. It originated in Germany, I believe. I could be wrong, however; I've never read it.

If you'd need help rescuing the books I'd be glad to offer my services in any way I can.

[Because books are precious and should not perish. Ever. Remus would be sad.]

I thought as much. It certainly caught my interest.

Really? That would certainly be appreciated.

Of course. Books contain knowledge and it would be a shame to let them be destroyed.

[There is a small smile, and a nod.]

Indeed.

Thank you. I believe shelves may be our best option.

I think the books will be the least of your concerns, Enjolras.

[Sob, you'll drown or something.]

I intend to move these today. Surely the water will not rise that quickly.

Well, yes, but I mean more in terms of later this week... if your room is already wet, then it may not be very long before it floods.

[One day he will curse himself for having such a giving spirit, really.]

You can keep them at my house. They should be okay here.

Truly? That would be much appreciated.

Yeah.

[His house is made out of stone. Couple that with the shield he put up and it's pretty much his own version of the ark.]

When did you want to move them?

Whenever is convenient, I suppose.
