Unpopular bandom opinions ahoy!

Dec 28, 2007 05:44

You know that unpopular opinion you've been harboring? Yeah, that one. The one that you're afraid to say aloud for fear that everyone else in bandom will look at you, mouths agape, then unite to say, "HEATHEN ( Read more... )

Yeah, I really don't care for Spencer at all, hah.

Me too! I just don't get the unabashed love for him. Spencer Smith is not my thing at all. I feel nothing for him either way.

In my house, we refer to him as the "Gay Lebian", as we're convinced he looks like, well, a lesbian.

I really, really can't stand all of Panic! At The Disco, and I don't understand the hype. I like the music quite a lot, but I find them, especially Ryan Ross, unsufferably pretentious, and not attractive at all. I swear, I am not trying to start a flame or anything, I just wanted to get this off my chest since 3/4 of my f-list is madly in love with them, and I can't understand why.

Not only are the lyrics pretentious, they're pretentious without being clever, which makes the fanon characterisation of Ryan as really intelligent hilarious: he's about as profound as a tea saucer. Also, they're not hot. But it's still sweet when they cuddle each other.

Thank you, I couldn't have said it better. (And of course, boys cuddling are always sweet)

Dudes, sometimes I think that Jon shouldn't be written in slash at all. See, he's somehow too manly to be... erm, having boisecks.

Also, Spencer really isn't that hot. Especially with tha beard. Or okay, maybe in the latest pics (the prom ones, oh yes the prom ones), but usually, I don't find him or his hips all that amazing. :D
Well, save for when he's paired with Brendon. That I'll read gladly. <3

Also, I hate Pete Wentz in slash. I don't know why, I just do. Any fic with the pairing Pete/anyone is a complete turn-off, I don't even read them.

Also, Patrick? Eww. No offense, but eww. I can manage a side-pairing of Pete/Patrick, but I'm kinda off-FOB-slash.

I'm so glad to get this out of my chest, THANK YOU! <3

i understand what you mean, but perhaps it'd be more accurate to say that he seems too straight to be having boisecks? because manliness doesn't have that much to do with it. not all gay men are prancing fairies -- i've known some incredibly macho, misogynistic, manly gay men in my time.

Okay, well the word was perhaps wrong but I'm glad you got my point. JWalk - simply too straight.

Exactly. Maybe the stereotype prevents people from appreciating ALL THAT BOISECKS.

Threesomes that include real girlfriends/wives are stupid and kind of offensive.

I don't find them more offensive that slashing the boys, actually. We're writing about real people, so if someone wants to stick to canon and add a girlfriend/wife there without writing her off, and likes to think that she'd agree to a threesome...it's not more offensive than writing about a married guy taking it up the ass. Just my two cents.

What I find offensive is when they write the girlfriends/wives into the slash, and they aren't a part of the sexing or love or whatever.
Especially if they make them out to be horrid people or something.

I think the girlfriends should really be left out of it anyway, unless they are famous girlfriends or something, because the girlfriends are just regular people and don't put a version of themselves out there for us to base our characters off of, and I feel all squicky whenever I have to read about the girlfriends.
I mean, much love to them and everything (especially the MCR girlfriends/wives), but I don't think we should have them in our slash

I am in complete agreement with this. The boys (and girls of bandom) put themselves out there as celebrities. The girlfriends do not and if one more person points me at myspace page to prove that they do, in fact, want notoriety, I'm going to choke a bitch.

Look, my father, little brother, and little sister all have myspace pages. Please don't write porn about them, ok?

Marry me and have my babies. One of my friends is a very good writer, but she writes almost excusively Frank/Bob, and that makes me really, really sad because I always feel too guilty if I don't read what she posts, and end up leaving random, pointless comments just to show her that I care. /really long randomness, sorry
