NAACP tells blacks they aren't fit to make decisions

So, in further weirdness surrounding Prop 8 here in CA the NAACP, which ostensibly tries to advance colored people, has sued to have Prop 8 repealed, despite the fact that 70% of African American voters voted Yes. Apparently the NAACP doesn't think that black voters should be allowed to make their own decisions.

Why should this surprise you?

Remember how the NAACP vilified Clarence Thomas?

Remember how the National Organization for Women came to Bill Clinton's defense after his shameful behavior involving women?

Remember how NOW called Ted Kennedy's endorsement of Obama a "betrayal", then turned right around and endorsed Obama themselves and trashed Sarah Palin?

To the NAACP, and to NOW, being black, or a woman, is more about being liberal than about the color of your skin or your sex.

What is the point of suing to have a proposition repealed? Is there even any chance of success?

Here is my legally uninformed opinion:

There are several lawsuits being filed taking different approaches to overturn the Yes vote on Prop 8.

This initiative measure expressly amends the California Constitution by
adding a section thereto; therefore, new provisions proposed to be added are
printed in italic type to indicate that they are new.
SECTION 1. Title
This measure shall be known and may be cited as the “California Marriage
Protection Act.”
SECTION 2. Section 7.5 is added to Article I of the California Constitution,
to read:
SEC. 7.5. Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized
in California.

You usually don't see the text posted in arguments about Prop 8 because the actual amendment is simple and doesn't actually comment on homosexual marriages in any way (which is the source of the first controversy over ( ... )
