I've been noticing a bit of a kerfuffle lately regarding Web browsers, and JavaScript speed. When Google's Chrome came out, everybody wet their pants at the performance benchmarks. A few days later, Mozilla announced that their new engine had caught upWell, the only benchmarks I care about are my own benchmarks. So tonight I quickly hacked together

I'm not bothered about machine specs or how long it takes to render on any one setup, but I am after browser speed comparisons on the same hardware.

Looks like the latest Safari builds do support get/putImageData now, so you do see the output. I get about 0.9s here (for comparison), which makes it as fast as Chrome but with better features. Nice!

It's a pity their distribution packagse for win32 nightlies are so fucking awfully put together. It's the most shoddy batch scripting job I've seen in years!
