My little baby is having a digestive disturbance. It could be that he's been on a primarily wet food diet for the last few days. It could be that we tried a few different flavors. It could be something he picked up off the ground that we didn't notice, or it could have been a little bit of people food that we gave him last night. Whatever it is, he got a bad case diarrhea today. It doesn't seem to be bringing him down at all, but it's pretty messy.
This afternoon, I decided to take him to the new Pet Food Express in the Castro/Duboce Triangle. He dealt with the car ride very well, which was good. As we entered the store, he started to squat (the way he does when it's time to have a bowel elimination). I quickly stopped him and pulled him outside. He immediately lost control of his bowels, squirting all over the sidewalk, right in front of the store. I grabbed a bag and cleaned it up as best I could, and then tried to walk him around a bit.
I wasn't sure if he was done, or if this was going to happen again, and I was a little embarrassed that I couldn't get him out of the store quickly enough. One of the particularly hot employees was outside smoking, and as I saw him going back in, and realized that he had probably seen what happened. I felt like I had made a mistake...like I should have something with me to more effectively clean the mess. Then a couple more people showed up to go into the store, and as they skirted the stains on the sidewalk, I realized that I just couldn't face the music, so I put Kookaburra in the car, and we left.
I'm even more ashamed now, and I feel like I can never go back to that store...at least for a couple of weeks, forcing me to go all the way out to Stonestown or Daly City for my Pet Food Express visit. Hopefully I'll work up the courage to go back. Maybe after the next big rain, when I know the stains are washed away.
So that's my story. I hope he get's better soon.
