I thought the bottom about high, drunk, etc. was standard in Larps for MET. In Vampire (I should check out Mage again) MET there are the "Unbreakable Rules" - which includes those. *shrugs* though definitely a good idea to have it in writing for players.
Most games in Edmonton are bendy about that rule, because a lot of them are held in pubs with the proviso that people must be eating and/or drinking.
I was literally just talking about you to someone. We decided I was to ask you how effective the survey stuff you do is. Do you get a lot of "negative" stuff on it? Do you feel it really reflects people's opinions? Is it a lot of work?
About half of the players are using them now - so about 5 to 6 are returned a night. Answers are usually on the scale of 2-4, never got a 1, but have gotten 5s. I don't get a lot of neg. stuff, but
Very rarely are there comments though, which is annoying because that's the best way I can figure out what's going on. I read through the surveys as I do sheet updates for the next game. I basically have been using the #s as a check on something. If they are really low, I make sure that I talk to the player(s) to find out why.
...we also meet right after game at a restaurant to unwind and destress - this way I can ask people right after what they thought of the night's events. - its fresh in their minds and in a relaxed atmosphere (while we beat each other up with Lunch Money card game).
It is possible that I'm bending over backwards for the players and will end up stressing self over them too - but so far haven't had that problem. ...only had the game for 2 or 3 months.
*grin* I love lunch money. Actually, I like "brawl" and "girl genius" better, but lunch money is good.
We do the same thing, but instead of talking specifically to the players, I just listen to the chatter. You can tell how good the game was by that. But we have a larger player base right now, and I've been doing it for a while so I know what to listen for.
