Coloring in PS Elements 2 without curves!

We'll be going from this *points left* to this *points right*. Please let me know if this was useful to you and show me what you've made of it! And feel free to ask questions if you're not sure about something.
Step 1

Crop your pic the way you like it best. Do not sharpen it yet!.The result is our base. Duplicate the base twice and set the one nearest to the base to Multiply 55%. Set the other to Hard Light 70%.
Merge all the layers into a new one and sharpen.
Step 2

Open a new layer. Fill it with a dark blue color ( I chose #04092D) and set it to Exclusion 100%.
Step 3

Now this looks kinda muddy. So we open another new layer and fill it with a greenish/yellowish grey (or whatever you wanna call it *lol*; I chose #E3E9BD) and set it to Color Burn 100%
See how nicely this brings out the colors?
Step 4

So much for the colors. For the text I'm choosing 18pt. TeleLogo, #000000 at 43% opacity.
Step 5

Lastly I'm adding this brush made by
colortone in #000000.

And yep, that was it. Comments, suggestions and critique are always welcome :).
