Xavier's School for the Gifted (NFB - Distance)
Monday
It felt weird going to class and she felt like everyone was staring at her.
"Rogue," Jubes whispered. "Wanna go to the mall after classes?"
She shrugged.
"You gotta stop this moping crap," Jubilee insisted. "It was an accident, no one died and everything is going to be fine."
Rogue sighed. "Fine," she agreed, happy to go along with it if it would get Jubilee and Kitty off her back.
Wednesday
"Hey, kid."
Rogue looked up, startled by Logan's voice in her doorway. "Logan!"
He gave her a gruff smile. "Relax, kid, I'm fine. You pack one hell of a punch though. That should come in handy."
"It has it's downside," she replied, twisting her gloved hands.
"And what would that be?" he asked, entering the room and sitting next to her.
Taking a deep breath, Rogue began to explain to him exactly how her powers worked and what she picked up when she touched other people.
Thursday
There was something sitting on her desk when she entered the room. She approached carefully and couldn't help but smile when she realized it was a rose made of ice. She picked it up and studied it for a moment, impressed by the details. She could feel the cold through her silk gloves.
"You like it?" Bobby asked.
Rogue turned and smiled. "Thanks, Bobby."
He looked nervous. "You're welcome." There was a long pause as he cleared his throat and shuffled his feet. "If you're not busy on Saturday, would you like to have dinner with me?"
The invitation came as a surprise. Dating wasn't exactly high on her agenda these days. "Um... yeah, okay," she agreed, a little surprised at herself.
Saturday
"I have nothing to wear!" Rogue wailed, pulling things from her closet and tossing them on the bed.
"Wear something sexy," Jubilee advised.
"Wear something comfortable," Kitty contradicted.
Rogue sighed. "You guys are no help!"
"Aw, chica, relax," Jubes said. "The freeze-pop likes you. He doesn't care what you wear."
"I'm not sure I'm ready for this," Rogue admitted.
Kitty got up from the bed and walked over to peer in the closet. "You'll be fine," she said, pulling out a dress. "Wear this. You can borrow my high-heeled brown sandals and wear that funky leopard-print scarf Jubes made you buy the other day."
Rogue smiled. "Thanks, Kitty. That'll be perfect."
