The block is hot

It was 105 degrees in the shade in Portland today, and yesterday, and the day before that. Tomorrow is supposed to be cooler. I'm hoping it's true because it's my last-minute packing day, before the move on Friday. I'm moving; didn't mention it because I'm not happy about it, next topic? I love the description of the squirrels. save that for a story or something. I mean, if you want.

I won't taunt you with the temperatures here. I'll just say that for now I don't mind not being in Seattle this time of year.

Taunt all you like, friend, and I'll admit your description does sound lovely. Soon, you'll be here and we will find someplace cool to sit together on days like these. (Actually, I am hoping for one or two of them -- and not more! -- in August, so that I can find my way to an actual river, lake, or, even, outdoor pool. Cool baths on hot nights are wondrous, indeed, but not the same as a true dip.)

Ah, thank you for noticing the writing, that's especially welcome coming from you :) I don't entirely mind the heat, although it is hard to work mentally or physically when it's on. I am always impressed by weather as physical phenomenon. Like the ocean, it reminds me that I am small, and fleeting.
