I'd have to agree with you. Everyone comes from a different walk of life no matter what race/color they identify with. Rather than deal with individuals based on what we know of their possible culture of origin, we are better off meeting people as people.

I don't know how long it's been since you've changed your layout, but I like it ;)

I cuss out all races equally when they don't tip me. This is a bit of a facetious comment, but yea. This and Gem's post, I admire both of you for being able to voice your opinions so coherently. I feel the same way.

this is a really good point. after all, thousands of chinese peasants in the past had no money, no food, no job, no special interest groups labelled "aid for the chinese peasantry" etc., and what did they do? get on ships, sail to a foreign land, labour and marry and found families. human beings are far more resilient than many of us give ourselves credit for. some may argue that the world today is different with the red tape, politicking, global awareness, etc. but i believe that is a basic point that remains constant.

exactly, and it's still happening now - i've met so many prc ppl here in nyc. and i'm pretty sure a lot of them jus came here with the idea tat they would figure something out, in a foreign country where they dunno the language and have no advantages. even so, chinatown is still expanding and gradually subsuming little italy, mwahaha~
