Bound

"Bound" is an interesting word. Among it's meanings are "leap", "jump", or "spring". It can also mean "bind" or "tie"; thus making "bound" it's own antonym.

Can anyone think of any other words that are their own antonym?

"Cleave" can mean both "stick to" and "cut apart".

That was my first thought too -- and one of my favorite words for that reason. :)

In Latin "altus" means: high and deep,

Isn't that a matter of inadequate translation rather than self-antonymy?

mv favourite is 'dust', both 'to sprinkle dust on' and 'to remove dust from'.

Fast, as in "securely tied" or as in "moving with a great velocity".

"Buckle" means both "fasten together" and "fall apart".
