i am scared about the upcoming election because I fear the conservative party (or, rather, the MORE conservative party) will be elected.

I hear you.

And a lot of it is not so much about the state of the country once the conservatives are elected (because I honestly think they'll have a hard time getting anything through the senate with the Greens holding the balance of power) but what a majority vote for a Tony Abbott lead liberal government means about the people who live here. It's a depressing thought.
