Summary - Jon is still trying to escape

The second escape attempt came during the photo shoot for the tour pamphlet.

Gackt and Jon were sharing a dressing room because, according to Gackt, they needed to work on their chemistry, friendship and camaraderie. Jon thought that Gackt was talking out of his ass (again), but knew better than to say that. He had to keep Gackt on side if his plan had any hope to be successful.

There was heavy security at the entrances and exits to the studio where they were filming, so inside the building, Jon was allowed to roam freely and without Gackt sneaking up on him at every corner like he did everywhere else.

Jon was in the dressing room, stood in front of the mirror and looking at himself. He was wearing the regulation YFC outfit. His make up was the same as Gackt’s. They were a similar height and build, if you looked quickly and didn’t pay too much attention. Jon felt like a Gackt clone. It was only the hair and eyes that really gave it away…

And there they were. Gackt’s far too expensive hat and sunglasses, just lying on the table begging to be worn, stolen and used.

Jon tried them on and looked in the mirror again. The differences were still noticeable, but if he kept the brim of the hat low, and the collar of his shirt high to hide the hair that covered the nape of his neck, maybe he could fool a bored and half asleep security guard. If luck was on his side, maybe he could sneak past them before they picked up on those little differences. He’d have to keep his arms glued to his sides to hide his tattoos, but he could do that.

It was worth a try.

Jon left the dressing room and started walking down the corridor. He’d walked only a few steps before stopping dead. If anybody saw him walk, they’d know instantly that he wasn’t Gackt. The other singer had a fluid, supermodel, only women should work their hips like this walk whereas Jon walked like a football player who was ready for a fight.

He tried again, delicately placing one foot directly in front of the other in a way that he hoped was somewhat similar to Gackt’s distinct walk and not at all similar to a drunken hostess, which is exactly what he felt like. By the time Jon had cleared two corridors, he felt that he’d mastered the walk a little and so he walked a little faster, past the room set aside for catering and the ever hungry You, past the main dressing room where Chacha was curling his hair, and down to the main exit.

So far, so good.

He turned the corner and he could see the exit. His goal was in sight!

Then the door opened, and in walked Gackt.

“Thank you for bringing my hat and sunglasses to me,” Gackt said politely as he took them from Jon. “So considerate of you to worry about my health on this hot day. Now, why don’t you go back to the dressing room, hmm?”

Jon nodded in agreement, sighed heavily and walked back to the dressing room, purposely making his walk as manly and jerky as possible.
