Summary - You questions Gackt about his plans for Christmas
“So, let me just make sure I understand you,” You said slowly.
Gackt smiled and moved closer to You, his hand idly playing with the long strands that framed You’s face. It was still new for Gackt to be able to touch You like this, their relationship as lovers was barely a few months old after all, but he knew it was something he’d never tire of. “Okay,” Gackt answered.
“You have no lives scheduled for Christmas.”
“No, I don’t,” Gackt confirmed.
You’s eyes slipped shut as Gackt’s fingers occasionally brushed his cheek. It had taken them a long time to realise exactly what they meant to each other but You knew that those wasted years didn’t matter when they had the future ahead of them. “Your last Nemuri play of the year is on the 23rd.”
“That’s correct.”
“There are no trips abroad, no filming, no new songs to record, no photo sessions or business meetings…” You said. “You have no work scheduled for Christmas at all.”
Gackt shook his head. “Nothing at all.”
“But you always work at Christmas.”
“Normally I do, yes,” Gackt confirmed again.
“So,” You asked, “why have you decided to take this Christmas as a holiday when it’s always just been another day of work to you?”
“Because,” Gackt began, “Christmas is a time to spend with those you love and I haven’t had anyone I love enough to stop working for these past few years.”
You stopped the hand that was still running through his hair and took it into his own, interlocking his fingers with Gackt’s battered digits. “And now?”
“I have you,” Gackt said with a smile. “Why would I want to work?”
