Another reason why I don't join the forum foray much.
Though I must commend Matriarch Atheyta when she used the phrase, "as useful as tits on a hanar"
It just makes me think of all of the mods that people have made so that they can de-sexify Ashley since wearing normal looking makeup and having shoulder length hair is so hard to imagine for a soldier. I mean, jeez I must be totally incapacitated from doing anything active since my hair reaches the middle of my back!
At least you weren't around for when they unveiled her ME3 appearance
HAH I heard that line just the other day, easily the funniest thing I've heard from her. Besides, I don't even want to imagine what hanar boobs might look like...
Oh, that crap. My boyfriend threw a fit about it too, and I had to kindly remind him that just because a woman is a soldier does not divest her of her femininity. I actually loved Ashley's makeover. It was pretty without trying too hard, and not such a step out of her character that it was absurd. I like to think that during her time on the Normandy, certain crew members rubbed off on her (Liara, maybe). Or maybe she just fucking felt like it. Oh noes, a woman wearing makeup and sexy hair, she shouldn't know how to fight! You have to be butch and manly to do that!
Clearly, love. We need to check our privilege. FFFFFFFF.
I love that and her explaining to Liara that she's had children with hanar, with Liara being like WTF!? I have a sister who's half hanar!? "Oh, but I thought you said that's not how it works." ILU Atheyta.
Oh you can totally imagine it. They'd be extra jiggly!
Yeah, I mean I get some things--like if Ashley were to show up in bikini armor (asari have biotic shields so they don't count) that' would be a bad thing. Also, with Ashley, too, she was trying to live up to a kind of impossible dream and treated herself like crap because of it. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't put any effort into her appearance because she didn't think she was worth it.
And you don't even need to be like that to be butch, lol. My nickname all throughout uni (the first time) was Butchy...and well, you've seen pictures of me. IMO, butch is an attitude, not a look.
