This is. A. WONDERFUL. CLOSURE. Everyone's in character and everything's got explained. Loving this, kudos!!
I've just done watching Akumu-chan and as it left me with open ending, I desperately looking for a closure,, googling [is shiki still alive "akumu chan"] and your fanfiction showed up in google search FIRST PAGE!! Didn't regret reading this,, this is a perfect ending and I can live with this believing this is the true ending to the series. Yay lol ^^
AH forgot to say one thing. Do you know how RARE it is to find a fanfic where everyone is in character as much as possible?? It's SUPER RARE,, so I applaud you! However I think it's slightly OOC when Ayami reached out to touch Shiki's hand because I thought she would prefer more subtle gesture like... idk, probably taking over the dishes from him and washing them herself instead. Besides, she never loved anyone,, it must've been awkward for her to make a first move. BUT seriously that was me nitpicking xD~
Thank you for the wonderful comments. I thought that this had largely gone unnoticed, so it's nice to hear that it hasn't (I wrote it largely for myself and for my own closure, so I didn't mind too much!)
As for the holding hands thing, I can understand what you mean. I included that though because he *had* spent at least one night at her apartment, with only one bed, so I think we can assume that there must have been a degree of physical intimacy that was never shown or even really hinted at on the show (that's Japanese TV for you...). And on that night, she was the one who invited him to stay. It might be a little OOC, but hopefully not wildly so.
