UNICORNS ARE IN THE KJV (oh and apparently the Geneva?) BIBLE. HERE IS PROOF:

The verses are found at Numbers 23:22; 24:8; Deuteronomy 33:17; Job 39:9-12, 10; Psalm 22:21; 29:6; 92:10; Isaiah 34:7 and Daniel 8:5-7. Before I post the verses, heres what I think.

I first found out about the word "unicorn" being in the bible in bible class at school; I was probably saying how I believed in them and my teacher Mr. Kent said that it mentions unicorns in Psalms in the King James version of the bible. In all other versions in just about everything except before King James was made it says"wild ox" and the word unicorn is just an error. Now theres some blah blah about the word in Hebrew being re'em or some shit like that, I don't know Hebrew ok? And like the translators didn't know what it meant, so they just guessed based on ther stuff, blah blah blah. But from what I can tell some other, older versions of the bible used a word in these instances that meant one horned. So unless they were talkin' about a narwhale, I really don't think so.

So I did some googling and a couple of these little people talking about it seem pretty legit. Someone who has like a unicorn worship website has some pretty interesting quotes from some professors or something, and this one explains it better than I do.

"BTW, you made a little mistake in your page about the translation of re'em. The Vulgate uses unicornis and not monoceros. It was translated from the greek Septuagesint, and not directly from the Hebrew. The Septuagesint writes monoceros where the Hebrew wrote re'em. The Vulgate writes unicornis, and one or two times rhinoceros, where the Septuagesint wrote re'em. "

Another really interesting point made is this:

"The Bible refers to the unicorn in the context of familiar animals, such as peacocks, lambs, lions, bullocks, goats, donkeys, horses, dogs, eagles, and calves. In Job 38-41 God reminded Job of the characteristics of a variety of impressive animals He had created, showing Job that God was far above man in power and strength. Job had to be familiar with the animals on God’s list for the illustration to be effective. God points out in Job 39:9-12 that the unicorn, “whose strength is great,” is useless for agricultural work, refusing to serve man or “harrow (plow) the valley.” This visual aid gave Job a glimpse of God’s greatness. An imaginary fantasy animal would have defeated the purpose of God’s illustration."

And it's like they say further on down the little essay, just because it isn't here now does not mean is never was. I mean: dinosaurs. We knew they were once here and now they are dead.

Also, what is says in the bible does not match the description of an ox. This is what some preacher dude said:

"The characteristics of the unicorn are as follows:
    • The strength of the unicorn is a major theme of the Bible record about unicorns (Numbers 23:22; 24:8; Job 39:11)
    • The unicorn is wild and cannot be tamed (Job 39:9-12)
    • The unicorn is a dangerous animal (Psalm 22:21)
    • The name unicorn means one-horned, although this could possibly refer to one prominent horn."

Does that sound like an ox? Nope. And you just really can't forget Daniel. Here's the stuff from chapter 8.

"[5]And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
[6]And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had there seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.
[7]And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand."

That has got everything that the bible says about unicorns: strength, wildness, and one horn. That, and, one of the earliest form of unicorns was actually as a type of goat. AND ALSO! It talks about the exact same thing in all the other translations: a goat with one horn.

Anyway here are the rest of the verses.

Numbers 23:22; 24:8;

"[22] God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn."

"[8] God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows."

Deuteronomy 33:17;

"[17] His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh."

Job 39:9-12, 10;

"[9] Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?
[10] Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?
[11] Wilt thou trust him, because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?
[12] Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?"

Psalm 22:21; 29:6; 92:10;

"[21] Save me from the lion's mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns."

"[6] He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn."

"[10] But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil."

Isaiah 34:7

"[7] And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness."
