That sucks. I'm pretty anal about my credit cards. I save all of my credit card receipts just to make sure they match what shows up on my statement, especially the ones from bars and restaurants in case some shady employee tries to adjust their tip. Glad you got a refund!

That sux dude! Sorry you got scammed.

But I have to ask - did you not notice an unknown $12 getting charged each month on your credit card?

I didn't notice it because it was only $12 nestled in my XBox microsoft points purchases which also were about $12. I just missed it.

To be fair though I don't go over my credit card bills with a fine toothed comb either, I make sure that the purchases look about right and that the bill isn't insanely high. From now on I will be more picky when I look over them.

I know you use Discover for a lot of stuff. My family tells me that they too use Discover online. But, they take advantage of some "unique" number program. It works like this: you tell Discover you need a unique number for Amazon or Buy.com, and they give you a cc number that only works for that company. So if you enter that number into Buy.com, and the coupon company siphons the number from them, it will fail when they try to charge it.

WOW! Very cool. Is there a particular place you go for that, or do you just have to call 800-discover?
