Obviously my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Everyone deals with grief in different ways. I don't pretend to know exactly how you feel, but when my Grandpa died I didn't feel a damn thing. And I was so mad at myself because I felt that I was emotionally devoid and cold. The fact is things happen to us and sometimes we just don't understand them. Events take a while to sink in; for us to face what's happened. So I guess what I'm saying is that you don't need to hammer on yourself for this, there's no clear method for dealing with death. We all grieve, and then we have to move on ( ... )

"Were a star quenched on high,
For ages would its light,
Still travelling downward from the sky,
Shine on our mortal sight.
When a good man dies,
For years beyond his ken,
The light he leaves behind him shines
Along the path of men."

Sometimes I almost have panic attacks at the thought that my life is being wasted mostly in a classroom and that I'm not ceizing the day. It's like our lives today are planned out for us specifically if we don't want to end up in a gutter starving somewhere. Plus the thought that school and work is all there is to life.

It's good to rant sometimes too, because then you can realize how to better improve on things. :-D
