OK, I actually did go look it up. If you ever decide to blog about Wicked on this front I'd be really interested in reading what you have to say.

I get why they had to do it for the stage production but I'm not quite sure that Nessarose has the same impact in a wheelchair (stage) as she does being born without arms (book) - her story is a different story in a wheelchair.

Granted, I haven't seen the stage production myself, so I don't have a very good place to talk from. I have read the book series several times, though.
