this isn't full length analysis, but I find it interesting that we have Hannibal's mix of elite intelligence and brute power that gives him the image of stability and strength, exploiting and contrasted with Will Graham's empathetic abilities (often coded as feminine in other works) that give him both powers and problems.

Will Graham's current arc in TV Hannibal reminds me of many of the stories about female mind-power superheroes gifted and cursed with immense abiltiies of violence and self-destruction.

YES, this! I think that's a good point, because usually that would be the arc for the female superhero and how they eventually fall to destruction....and at this stage, Hannibal does have the power, due to in part, Will's empathy? Like, as in, Will sees him as a 'friend'.

It's very much a dynamic that would play out with one being another gender.
