TVD 4x07
Sorry, can't be fucked to look for pictures today.
I don't really feel like discussing this episode? So I'm just writing down a few things for the record, feel free to ignore me :(.
1. I'm furious. Considering-to-give-up-on-the-show-soon level of furious.
2. This episode was purposefully confusing and had logical flaws that were put there deliberately. Some scenes were filmed like the sire bond was real (for example the red/blue dress scene), some like it's not real (for example the sex scene). This isn't a good kind of ambiguity. This is fucking with the structure and being self-contradictory for marketing reasons, catering to two separate fanbases and artificially keep the triangle going.
3. Don't get me wrong, I'm not mad because I think the sire bond is real (I think it probably isn't, it doesn't make any sense at all). I'm mad because someone consciously went into inconsistent storytelling that does very ugly things with Elena's narrative and undermines her agency, and it clearly was a BUSINESS decision.
4. That said: Nina, Ian, you deserve a fruit basket. The visual of Damon and Elena alternating on top, mirroring each other's movements... STUNNING.
5. I'm genuinely interested in the Elena-and-Jeremy stuff. All things Jeremy, in general.
6. Show, this thing you're doing with Caroline. Stop.
7. There probably won't be more episode thoughts/meta from me, because I have fic to write, and writing fic doesn't infuriate me. Unlike this episode.
