*Sasuke stares in disbelief at the screen, eyes slightly widened, brows furrowed together. He'd been fiddling with the Dreamberry and hadn't expected to see this: a memory he's long since buried under everything else and forgotten about. Except he never really forgets things, can't--
He wants to be angry, and he is, but it's a deep burning sensation beneath his skin that's so very cold and as good as dormant.
There's something else too, a mix of a lot of things. He doesn't know what they are, isn't able to stick labels on them even if he wants to. He doesn't like it, but Kakashi keeps drawing to the surface.
*Glances down at the screen. His Dreamberry is on his bed and is angled so it can see him, and he can see it. Then turns a page and doesn't respond at first.* You're not a child anymore, Sasuke. *He says, without looking up.* Use your brain.
*Despite what he's saying (or because of what he's saying) it feels as if Kakashi's still treating him like a child.
On any other day (with anybody else), he might not have cared. He might have barely paid it a passing glance before going on with whatever it was he was doing, much like how he'd punched a chidori through one of Naruto's clones without batting an eye. But today's just been a flurry of too much confusion and disrupted balance and he can't quite grip onto control as tightly as he'd been able to before.
Tightens his hand around the device, wants to break it, but that'd be counterproductive to trying to figure out why the fuck Kakashi had to go and dream about this.
"Even if you are successful in your revenge, all you'll be left with is emptiness."
It's always leading back to the same thing.
The way he'd said his name, why did it--
Grits his teeth, something not unlike anger searing through him again despite his struggles to keep it in his grasp.*

He brutally strangles the emotions.*
...I'm satisfied. *His voice is flat and empty.*

Are you really that desperate to talk to me, Sasuke-kun.

Why did you dream about that. *Can't understand why.*

Are we done, or do you want to find out what's in this book? *He wiggles Icha Icha a little.*

Hurls the Dreamberry into the stone wall where it breaks into pieces--the transmission cuts off.*
