Exercise (from a non-exercise person)

I know this sounds like a "well, duh!" moment, but I have just realized that my exercise routine has made me more flexible. Who'd have thought, right?

The waaay-back story is this: )

That must be a really good exercise routine - often people get less flexible when working out because they develop muscles without stretching them. Anyway, I'm glad that you're feeling better (I hope that includes your back)!

It's only pre-dawn this time of year... in the summer, the sun's up by the time I get there, or at least making an attempt at it. And I've been sadly slacking over the past month or so (down to one-two days per week instead of three-four), neatly coinciding with increased eating over the holidays... not so good. I'm glad to hear you're seeing results from your workouts, though. One thing I don't think I'll ever be able to do is touch my knuckles to the ground, much less my palms. I'm about as flexible, especially in the legs, as an average slab of marble.

Well, it seems you are already addressing the leading causes of back pain, tight hamstrings and weak core muscles.

An idea though to help with the posture. Try sitting on one of those large exercise balls instead of a chair. Forces you to sit with good posture and gives you a little mild core exercise.

P.S. HAHAA, I do exist

Who the heck are you? Where did you come from?!

:-)

Right with ya on the exercise ball; had one when I was in the old office across the street. In fact, I still have it in the new office, there's just not enough room to trade it out with the chair (and I can't use it every day b/c of some of my work shoes). So I really need to just deflate it and bring it home, put it in front of the home computer. That's been the plan since September..... (have I mentioned that I sometimes have a problem with follow-through?)

Hi; how the heck have you been?
