Vriska Serket is unbelievably awesome and unbelievably polarizing.
There's many things I love about Vriska, and one of them is that she is pushing for the award of most messed-up character on the cast -- she has done a lot of evil, but the problem is that she's not a cackling antagonist. She is not simply a misguided teenage girl, either. She is someone desperately trying to be Badass McBadass fighting, much like Karkat, against one of the worst self-loathing complexes, frustrated with why her methods always seem to fall down around her feet when she is the coolest girl in the whole wide world. Vriska wants to be the Hero. Vriska has selfishly done whatever the fuck Vriska wants and whatever looked cool at the time, and it has only slowly dawned on her that killing people doesn't make them like you, it just makes them dead.
She is someone who forges ahead being deliberately unafraid of anything, rather than simply being John and not actually being ( ... )
