schellibie and I, on a whim, ended up talking about her concept of a Marching Band AU (henceforth referred to as "marchingstuck" because Shelby hasn't given me a better name HURRY UP SHELBY). A couple hours later, this shambled out our mental birth canals as a malformed, partly-illustrated monster, with the most inane and beautiful AU setting of all time.

Seriously, I love everything about this, everything. As a former saxophone player I am beyond thrilled that Terezi plays the saxophone and licks everyone's reeds. 4LL TH3 R33DS. And the DARK D-EVOTION of color guard and Gamzee hitting everyone with his trombone and Karkat with an instrument thrice his size and. JUST EVERYTHING.

Uh and the bit about Karkat going for a run with Equius charmed me so thoroughly that I had to illustrate it for you. Except that I have no scanner so I had to photograph it with my phone, and in two pieces that didn't piece back together well, sob. BASICALLY IT'S MASSIVE FAIL ALL AROUND BUT HERE YOU GO. Note that there is no actual running in this picture, I just wanted to draw some outfits, derp derp.

I know exactly what Karkat does in AP GOV: argues with the teacher the whole time, because to me Karkat's politics are a confusing mix of radical Trolligarchic plus hyperliberal but plus hyperconservative and once he read half an Ayn Rand book and thought it was a dystopian narrative but confuses everyone by referencing how brilliant a satirist she is and why did I just even type that

I'm not sure. I spent a very long time helping match kids's personalities to specific brass and woodwind instruments, and guffawing over Jade playing the piccolo. I am sure that disqualifies me from life.

But I am thrilled that people got the same lols I did from the process.

Karkat loves cupcakes and is one of those kids who thinks that if he doesn't eat it immediately someone else will eat it (which is true if you eat with John, but John is not after your cupcakes, buddy). Then cupcake oozes out his mouth and only Johh Egbert thinks this is cute.

Band camper. Then you truly understand.

IF YOU DO YOU WOULD HAVE ACCOMPLISHED MORE THAN ME, as I look at instruments and my whole soul shudders at the thought of drawing them. I stick to PowerPoint presentations.
