The role of the media is mostly private-sector orientated. Headlines that generate interest mean $.

So an 'all of the above' is in order for the role of media in democracy, as long as that 'all of the above' serves the interests of the dollar.

If I was the Canadian media, I'd just continue asking unscripted answers to instigate some sort of response from the PM.
