Also, Canadians and spying... there's a movie called (I think) "The President's Analyst." It's nothing but camp, from one end to the other. And the Canadians have quite the Machiavellian spy agency in it.
Happens all the time. It's only news because they could manage to craft a half-way decent story out of it this time around. Russia isn't a super power but she's still capable of making all kinds of headaches for the rest of the world. Ever notice how every non-NATO baddie has an endless supply of Russian technology? It's no accident and it's still happening today
( ... )
Just to reinforce the "this happens all the time" bit: Between 2002 and 2007 they've done this to us and several other countries including the US, Finland, Denmark, the UK etc. TEN times. And how many times in 2008 and 2009? NINE. A bunch of those were overflights of US naval vessels, a very major serious faux-pas as far as Navys are concerned. Planes are the natural enemies of boats and to have one from a foreign country (that could drop bombs on you) fly over... let's just say it's not taken kindly.
The Russians are very clearly sending a not-too-subtle message. I'm thinking they just watched The Shining.
That's wrong actually. I was thinking The Shining quote was, "I'm baaaack", but it's "Heeeeere's Johnny." Never mind that last bit from my previous comment. I'm clearly deranged and delusional and very probably many other d words.
