Hair Intervention for Girls with Dry Hair

Back in the day, it seemed the only thing that could cure dry hair was a jerri curl. Nowadays unless you wanted to be the brunt of every joke and/or get beaten to a pulp, a jerri curl is no longer an option.

So what's a dry haired girl to do? Don't fret! I've got some great products you can use and that you can even DIY (do-it-yourself).

Shampoo:

Silicon Mix Shampoo

Deep conditioner (leave in for 15 minutes under hooded dryer):

Silicon Mix Deep Conditoner

After I rinse out the deep conditioner, I run this through my hair paying close attention to my ends and then I rinse it out.

Lafier Miel y Almendras Rinse (Honey & Almond Rinse)

I use this right before I set my hair:

Sedal Ceramidas

(products listed above can be found at IBeautyNY.com or at your local Dominican hair salon)

Then I set my hair using these rollers and these clips. I use the rattail comb to part small sections of hair to put into each roller. Then I sit under the hooded dryer (be sure to get the ionic or ceramic kind. I bought mine from Sally's Beauty Supply)

(products can be found at Sally's Beauty Supply)

I moisturize my hair like crazy (because our hair is dry it tends to break and you don't retain length, so moisturizing helps to combat against the breakage). I use this daily because it doesn't weigh my hair down:

I use this when my I'm closer to needing a perm and my hair is at its dryest.

The result is beautiful, bouncy, healthy, shiny hair that smells and looks great. Be sure to wash and deep conditoner your hair at least once a week. If you have damage or are totally clueless about your hair, I suggest picking up this book:
