The beauty industry is saturated with brands and their legions of products, and that can be overwhelming even to the most veteran of beauty junkies.
But there are 5 beauty brands that no matter what, you should definitely not go without trying,
1.
Becca Cosmetics: This brand was started by a beautiful Australian woman who wanted to achieve the airbrushed-like skin of models in major fashion magazines. And she did! This line of mostly foundations and concealers is a definite must-try. The foundations, concealers, and powders come in shades to fit the lightest of the light to the darkest of the dark. I am in love with their Fine Loose Finishing Powder and Compact Concealer.
Becca is sold at beccacosmetics.com, Bergdorf Goodman, select Sephora stores, and sephora.com.
2.
NARS Cosmetics: Known for their high pigment and superior quality, NARS is to your face as diamonds are to your ears. Their blushes which come in multiple shades will give you that beautiful hollywood glow that's so hot right now.
3.
Cover Girl: Although I must admit I haven't regularly shopped for Cover Girl since I was like 16 years old, this brand need not be overlooked for three simple words: Lash Exact Mascara. That stuff is heaven-sent! You can get long, flirty, dramatic lashes (depending on your application) for like $6!!! Take THAT,
DiorShow!
4.
M.A.C.: Anyone who knows me well, knows I know my M.A.C. well. This line originally started for the true makeup artist before being bought by cosmetics giant Estee Lauder, is still a cult favorite. With eyeshadows in colors and textures so plentiful, just a glance at them will make you want them all. M.A.C. proves to be one-stop shopping for those searching for beauty looks from natural to dramatic.
I love their makeup brushes, tinted moisturizer, lipglasses, lustreglasses, lipsticks, eyeshadows, creme colour bases, mineralized skin finishes, well, pretty much their everything!
5.
Bare Escentuals: I'm not currently using this brand myself, but its praises are sung way too often for me not to include it in my list. For the record I don't use it because they don't have my a match for my skintone and undertone yet :(
This line is compromised of mineral makeup so pure you can sleep in it! It's simple: you tap a bit of the minerals into the top of the jar, buff their kabuki brush into the minerals, then buff the brush into your skin, and voila! beautiful non-masky skin. Your best bet as a newbie to this line is to buy the starter kit which comes with all you need plus a DVD with a tutorial that will help you become a Bare Escentuals pro.
