1. I used to be vegan cos being vegetarian and allergic to cheese and not liking eggs or butter meant it really wasn't that hard

I got married so I could move to Canada with the man I love. To go as common-law partners would have taken too long in terms of paperwork so to me it was just a legal formality. No church, no white dress, I kept my name, our child has my name, I refer to him as my partner rather than my husband etc. People should do what is right for them in terms of marriage and stuff, it is just that too many people do it for the wrong reasons, and automatically fall into traditional roles that are archaic imho.
