Day 7 of mind over matter.

Mar 01, 2009 12:27

So this cleanse is sort of like a spiritual journey of mind over matter. It’s conquering cravings, realizing you don’t need food every time you think you’re hungry, but are really just eating out of boredom or because you’re not full rather than when your body actually tells you it’s hungry. I think this is the reason so many Americans are ( Read more... )

Your fast appears to have also caused your fonts to slim down. :-P

LOL. I thought the print looked too small for some reason so I tried making it bigger but then it looked too big, so I went back to smaller. Maybe I'm not all that lucid after all and my mind is playing tricks on me? ;-) I'm headed to the gym in a while and hope I can find my way. ha!

How does it go working out and not having some food afterward? I know I have to eat an hour or so before I work out, otherwise I feel majorly lightheaded after. Have you lost weight? I'm almost considering doing this in addition to being more gym-active, but I'm also worried about having a bad reaction (lightheadedness.)

Well, it's odd but this concoction you drink seems to keep up your energy. Normally I'm hungry after working out but I really haven't been with this stuff. When I feel like eating it's really because I'm thinking about food, smelled it or saw something that looks good, but my stomach isn't asking for it the way it normally would if I hadn't eaten and wasn't drinking this stuff. I just keep it with me in a water bottle and take a swig whenever I need and that keeps the hunger away. The reason I want to keep working out is because I don't want to lose muscle ( ... )

P.S. I'm sure the salt water flushes I'm doing have something to do with retaining water too. 2 tsp in 32 oz of water is a lot of salt to ingest all at one time.

My boyfriend's best friend, who is in the medical field, said we should be wary of diarrhea after drinking the salt water mixture. She meant not just immediately after drinking it, but the entire day after. At the risk of being too personal, have you had that experience, or has it mostly been confined to the next hour or so after drinking the salt water?

Sorry if this is really personal...we're just looking into doing it before we go to Belize as part of our general revamp of how we eat and exercise...and of course how we look in bathing suits. ;)

Hey, just so you know, I tried drinking laxative type tea some people drink instead of doing the salt water flush when they can't handle it. I normally hate hot tea, but it's not as bad as drinking 32 oz of salt water. LOL. Drank it last night, woke up this morning having to "go." So it worked and it's MUCH easier to handle.

Hm, what brand are you using? We might want to try that. Also, are you juicing your own lemons or buying lemon juice? I was considering buying bottled lemon juice until I started thinking about the preservatives and coloring agents that might be in bottled juice. How many lemons is 14 tablespoons of juice, anyway?

I also wondered about the slim font.

Way to persevere, there, buddy! :)

Thanks!

Hmmm. I played around with the font when I first posted, but I changed it back and now it looks the same on my computer as it does in all my other posts. If it still looks different on your and others computers, I'm not sure why.

You usually impress me with your intelligence, so I am making the assumption that you know what you are doing and have researched this thoroughly. Promise me (and others) that you will schedule a physical with your physician soon? Just for peace of mind?

Well, I had a physical not long ago and I'm in tip top health or I wouldn't be doing this at all. I'm not going back for another just because I went on a 10 day cleansing diet so he can tell me the same thing. LOL ( ... )
