Yes, I’m alive. Thank you to those who have sent messages or emails out of concern.  My life has taken a few turns since I last posted.  Without getting into it, I am spending a few months in Palm Springs, but I’m up in the San Francisco Bay Area right now because my parents have had some health issues, so I’m kind of commuting between the two.  I ( Read more... )

oh i am so sorry you're not enjoying the desert. i have had some really wonderful times in palm desert, but i was always with a very close friend and met up with others around my age. we all ignored the retired people, mainly, had great mexican food, went dancing, swam naked in swimming pools, but i never stayed for more than a long weekend. i see what ya mean about it.

hope all will be ok with your folks. i am sure you still miss Bailey, terribly, too. <3 hope you are alright.

Sounds similar to my past experiences in the desert - with friends and swimming naked :-p but never spending more than a long weekend. I always had fun, but staying out there for longer periods has given me a different perspective though. I'm a big city guy, and it's DEAD out there. If you think the economy is bad in LA, there are entire malls that are almost empty. I'm sure you've heard the expression "nice place to visit, but . . . . "

And yes, I miss Bailey terribly. I have a slide show of his photos as my screen saver and just stare at it sometimes. Life isn't the same without him. :-( Thanks for thinking of me, Marky.

I haven't been called that in a long time. :-) The short version of the story behind that nickname is . . . . . my father used to be a boxer and my friends asked what his boxing nickname was. He didn't have one, but I jokingly told them it was Toots because I thought it was funny. A boxer called Toots? LOL. Next thing I knew people were calling me Toots.

Good to hear from you! Don't fry in the desert; the pool is your friend. :]

Thinking of you, your parents, and life for you in PS.

If you ever drive through Pasadena, call ahead and see if I've time to buy you a beer, or a snack. Or both.

I'm in Chicago. Memory lane. wonderful. I finished my major responsibilities today, now I can enjoy Chicago a bit more until Tuesday.

Big hug from the Second City.
