Most of my flist are writers with a few artists tossed in. Although I don't always comment on your posts, I do always read them. I do, however, notice styles, details, certain turns of phrase that are uniquely...you, or at least I think I do

Late hours and sake were not a good mix for her. Rangiku knew better but... Call her gluttonous, call her indulgent. Before she could control it, her fingers would wrap around a sake bottle and a cup would find its way to her lips. Soon after her belly and bloodstream were filled with sake, her lips would pout, matching her glazed-over eyes.

She was a mess inside. But she wasn't going to bring her division down with her. And especially her captain. Hitsugaya-taichou was going through enough as is: festering in guilt that he was not able to protect the girl that he cherished as friend and family. However, he would not let it eat him up, for the sake of his own sanity and his division. And she would do the same: Rangiku would not seep in betrayal and sorrow because Gin was a turncoat. She was much stronger than that.

And it's not like she was in love with him. Heavens, no. Gin fed her when she felt hunger, befriended her in their youth, but that was no reason for her to say she was in love with him, right

Suffice to say, it had been a long night. He usually would be home just before the first rays of sunlight swept over the city skyline. This time, though...even when the city had been quiet, he had been in no hurry home.

And for the first time, he allowed his mind to replay the events that had happened earlier that night.

"It wasn't my place to tell."

To his own ears, that sounded pathetic compared to his ward's comeback.

"But it was your place to put her in danger!"And in spite of the girl's assurance that she had volunteered to do this job, his ward wouldn't listen, going on to say that he manipulated people into 'thinking that they volunteer' before promptly quitting and stalking off in anger

"I mean.. it's not.. w-working out." Kazuha's eyes were bright. "Because.. because we're always f-fighting and it.. seems that.. sometimes.."

"Stop it." Heiji closed his eye. He bit his lip and tried to calm himself down. "I.. I know you don't mean that."

"But Heiji--"

"No! We can't! This is... we've only been together.. like this for.. I mean, you can't.." He started to shake. "Please..."

"H-Heiji.."

The tall, dark-skinned young man stood up to grasp his girlfriend by the arms. "Stay. Stay with me. Forever?"

"I don't.. what do you mean..." A gasp escaped Kazuha's lips. "Heiji?"

"Kazuha... I'm asking you to marry me."
