by the moonlight of Oct. 4th and 5th U-mass Amherst had a small riot in southwest right outside my building.
The red sox won 2-1 in extra ennings so everyone, while everyone was drunk, gathered outside. Started out a big crowd chanting "boston red sox" "Yankees suck" "jetter swallows" and the like then small fires where lit. I guess thats not uncommon, however, 500 or so rioters gathered right outside the front of my building in a small parking lot managed to flip two parked cars while smashing another. The riot squad then moved in shooting off pepper spray, scattering the crowd, and then took up positions with what looked like paint ball guns, but fired rubber bullets.

a different kind of drama, but squeezed almost to blue.

I hope you're ok, and that bit of news made you forget for at least a little while.
