quick question because you were just there--are traditional tribal tattoos still popular? reason i'm asking is that my partner is part filipino and has been considering going there to get a second tattoo that will reflect his heritage. things online stress that all tattoos are different and a bunch of questions about you and your family will help the artist design a tat that reflects them all correctly. so any chance you heard about this or saw it while you were there?? any info (or corrections to what we thought) welcome.

While I was there I did see some people (mostly guys) with tribal tattoos. To be honest, I think most of them just got the tattoo because they liked they way it looked and didn't really care or know what the design meant or symbolized. If your partner does decide to get a tribal tattoo there then make sure he goes to a clean and well kept one to avoid an infection. Tattoo parlors are different there than here. Hope that helps.
